Robbie Burns 8 km Road Race

On a brisk Sunday morning January 24th, The Halton Region Police Pipe Band played the "pipes and drum" to signal that it was time time to head to the starting line. 1,050 runners in kilts ran through the streets of Burlington in celebration of Robbie Burns' 251st birthday.

January is Alzheimer Awareness month and this event supported the charity. It was also the kick-off event for the City of Burlington Winter Carnival. Hot porridge, coffee and bagels were served after the race.
All runners received an InstaKilt and commemorative finisher's medals. Over $2,000 in awards for top 3 in each age category + over $2,000 in draw prizes were awarded.
