2008 May > Foods & Wines of Portugal at 1505 North

1505 North offered a variety of foods and wines inspired by Portugese dishes. For only $50, patrons enjoyed a four course meal, complete with hand-selected glasses of wine. The first course was a choice of Sardinha Frita (fried fresh sardines with lemon and parsley) or Pao amb Tomaquet (grilled country bread with tomatoes and goat cheese). This course was served with Vila Vinho Verde Gazela, a white wine. The second course was a choice of Caldo Verde (a cream of potato soup with braised kale and chrizo sausage) or Salada Mista (roma tomatoes, red onions and olives with lemon and oregano vinaigrette). It was served with Regia Douro 2004, a red wine. The main course was a choice of Polo Piri-Piri (garlic seared chicken supreme) or Porco a Alentejana (braised pork and clams with potatoes and Moorish spices). These dishes were accompanied by Charamba Douro 2005, a red wine. The final course was Fruita Torte (a fresh fruit torte with port scented whipped cream). The dessert was served with a 10-year-old Taylor Fladgate.
